Swimwear: The Good, The Bad, and My Advice

We all know how difficult it is to shop for bathing suits. And if you're anything like me, you buy a new one (or three) every summer.

I used to always buy my swimwear from Target and Victoria's Secret, but I've ventured away from those in recent years. If you've seen what they've put out this season, you probably have too.

Of course, most of us can appreciate anything inexpensive.  However, I've found that there is definitely a science to finding quality without breaking the bank. You're probably thinking, "Paige, I don't have the time to be doing all this research or wasting my money!"

Don't worry - I've done it all for you and here's what I'll pass along to you, free of charge.

Suit 1 - TRIANGL

I've decided to start with my favorite bathing suit this season - my Triangl suit.
You probably would have never guessed that this would have been from Triangl. Probably because you remember the 2015 era with the loud, colorblock prints. So happy I never hopped on it then, but I couldn't be more satisfied that I circled back to it now.

What I love about Triangl is that they put the full price out there for both pieces. Some sites will deceive you and make you think, "Wow! Only $65 for that bathing suit? I'm in."  Only to find out that is what you're paying for just the bottoms.
So you might be shocked at the $89+ price for a set, but it's for both pieces and honestly, WORTH. IT. The quality and fit are just unmatched. It's hard to find a well-fitted suit with such good material for less.
Also, unlike other sites, you can choose your individual sizing for both the top and the bottom. Because I'm sure most of you ladies are not the same size in top and bottom (I'm not)

I did learn this the hard way though. I ordered both in a large and eventually had to exchange the bottoms for an XL.
The customer service could not have been better. They were quick to respond and incredibly transparent and helpful.

I really love(d) everything about Triangl, except for their sizing. It's definitely not normal by any means. They carry suits from XXS - XL. Yes, sounds like a really nice range of sizing, but what I gather is that these are going to fit girls who wear 00-10. I'm just really not okay with a company not being more size inclusive. To explain, I normally do not wear an XL. I'm typically a size 8 in pants. So how does XL = US 8???

So just a tip, check your actual measurements with the size chart they provide and potentially size up.

Overall, I will definitely buy from Triangl again.

Suit 2 - HAUTE SWIMWEAR

I'll start by saying - what an absolute atrocity. I don't even know where to begin.

The Instagram ads got me, y'all. They advertised that you could help promote and you'll get a discount code and blah blah. Obviously, their pitch was just too good to be true.

So they offered 20% off my purchase and I was like okay, not bad! The original price of this suit was $62.99 and I end up paying $50 with shipping. After purchasing more expensive suits, I didn't think anything of it.

Until the thing showed up... GOOD GOD.

So Haute Swimwear is one of those all-in on sizing. You pick one size and hope it works, and well, it didn't work for me. As you can see, we have a lot of under-boob going on in this photo. And if I adjusted to not have the under, well then, it was the over.

Before I even tried it on, I noticed how terrible the material was. Cheap, like cheaper than Forever 21 cheap. I figured I could get past that, but then after seeing it on, I knew I wasted my money.

I'll keep this short and sweet - do not buy anything from this company unless you like when you spend too much for things that do not fit properly.

Suit 3 - 437

Holy. Cow.
I could not be more impressed with a company and their product.
I followed 437 on Instagram for a while but could never buck-up and pay the high price for their suits. Until one day, they had an offer of buy anything and get the Black Aubrey Bottoms for FREE. This was my chance!! I saved $75 with this deal.

I decided to purchase the Kenzie Top to go with the bottoms. Not only did I like that the thickness of both pieces went together, but you can tie the Kenzie top 9+ ways. So really, it's like buying multiple tops for the price of $85.

I was so in love when I opened the package. Honestly, it was love at first touch. The material is just incredible. Think of the most buttery, soft clothing item you own. Maybe you don't have one, but this would be it. THE most comfortable bathing suit in my closet now.

I definitely would say that my purchase was worth it, but I did get a helluva deal.
A few weeks ago, they ran another deal, 20% off! So I went back and bought the Kenzie Bottoms because I wanted bottoms that weren't as high-waisted as the Aubrey.

Takeaway: buy their product. Classic colors, classic designs and just beautiful overall.
Not to mention! They are very size-inclusive and we love that!!

Suit 4 - ASOS

Before we get into the suit, I just want to talk about how you need to buy the express shipping package on ASOS!! It's like Amazon Prime but for all things clothes. There's nothing like being in a pinch for an outfit for the weekend ahead and it being at your doorstep in just a few days. So. Worth. It.

Anyway!!! This beauty is from ASOS and it was a whopping $36. Granted, I had a discount code (because ASOS always has some sort of sale going on) but even if it was the full price of $46, I still would have purchased.

The crochet material is so comfortable and also very trendy right now. Both the top and the bottom are adjustable so if you want to show a little more or less skin, the option is yours.
Another thing I love about a string bikini is that sizing is usually never an issue because you can make it as loose or as tight as you need.

Nothing more to say on this suit - just an absolute win!

And while digging for the links, I even found it in a One Piece

And while I love recommending bathing suits, I would also love some recs myself! Drop them if you have them!
